Why you need salvation

The Need for Salvation

A lot has already been mentioned above about the concept of salvation, which clearly explains why salvation is necessary. However, to further buttress this point, the need for salvation is very paramount because every man came into this world with the nature of sin.

When Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating the forbidden fruit, sin entered humanity, and man inherited a sinful nature. This fallen nature causes every man born into this world to naturally incline toward sin and evil.

Romans 5:19 by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners.

The Bible confirms this sinful state of humanity. “The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time” (Genesis 6:5). The Bible also says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

As mentioned earlier, what happened to man was a spiritual separation from God. Man was created to dwell and thrive in God’s presence because God’s presence is man’s natural habitat.

Being separated from God creates a vacuum in the spirit of man that nothing else can truly replace or satisfy. This is why people try to fill that emptiness with many things, yet still feel empty after momentary pleasures. Separation from God also means that man cannot spend eternity with Him after physical death.

Therefore, man needs salvation urgently in order to be restored to the original state God intended, to regain the nature and fellowship of God, and to secure eternity with Him. Salvation restores the broken relationship between God and man and fills the emptiness in the heart of man.

In addition, God desires man to enjoy the blessings, authority, and dominion He originally gave him. Through salvation in Jesus Christ, man is restored back to God’s purpose, presence, and divine nature.
